In many parts of the world, especially in countries like Turkey where inflation and exchange rates are high, the buying and selling of second-hand goods is quite common. This is especially true for electronic devices such as smartphones. Even if a device has only been used for a minute, it is now considered second-hand. According to a recently published report, the most prominent brands in the second-hand smartphone market have become clear.
The latest situation in the second-hand smartphone market
According to the report on the second quarter of the year shared by market research company CCI Insight, second-hand smartphone sales increased by 7 percent between April and June. Despite the increase in sales, market volume fell 13 percent to $7.7 billion. The reason for this is the decline in phone prices.
According to the report, Apple is the leader in the second-hand smartphone market. Samsung, which is seen as the biggest rival of the US technology giant, which dominates 62 percent of the market, holds 18 percent. The remaining 20 percent market share consists of other brands.
iPhone is popular in North America, while Samsung is popular in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The prominent brands in the market are listed as follows;
1 – Apple: | %62 |
2 – Samsung: | %18 |
3 – Diğer: | %20 |
